FINBACK WHALE

RORQUAL COMMUN Fin whales are found in groups of 6 or 7 and possibly up to 12. These are very fast whales, sometimes called “the greyhounds of the sea”.

  • Length : 69-82 feet
  • Weight : 50 tons (metric)
  • Colors : dark on dorsal fin white on ventral side More white on right side around the head
  • Baleen : 350-400 on each side
Look carefully :
  • Height of spume from blow-hole ;
  • The shape of the dorsal fin ;
  • While diving this whale will curve its back but will not show a fluke.
